State #35: Arkansas, Little Rock Marathon

Little Rock is a neat little city. There are so many friendly people, many biking and running trails, and some good little cafes/restaurants.  I was able to re-connect with some of my Little Rock friends which was fun.

The Hobgood's and I stayed with each other, and Jessie and Liana both ran PR's! I was thankful to run the first 16 miles with my friend Larry Wasson from Indiana.  I did not feel good because of the heat and became sick.  I was happy to finish this one as each mile seemed to take longer as I became more sick.

We really earned our 3lb+ medals at the LR Marathon!!

State #34: Maryland, Baltimore Marathon

Baltimore was awesome!! Yes, some runners complain about the hills, but the hills could be much worse.  The first few miles are hilly/challenging, and some hilly miles towards the end, but it's not anything a marathoner can't tackle.

I loved the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore.  There were so many neat shops and places to eat along with street performers.  I really enjoyed the spectators along the marathon course.  They had a lot of Baltimore Pride especially after all of the riots this year (2015).

My friend Jessie and I and Jessie's sister, Liana, stayed in Baltimore together.  We had a great time exploring, eating, and drinking our way through Baltimore.

And...that's a wrap for 2015! Have a great holiday season everyone and I'll be back with marathon fun in 2016!

I traveled to Milwaukee and drove with Cheryl B. a 50 Stater to Appleton (thank you Cheryl)!  I stayed with my 50 State Club/Marathon Maniac friends Alison, Lisa, and Ed in a small and adorable house in Menasha, close to the marathon finish line.

I was very concerned about finishing this marathon because of some medical issues, but I was able to complete it despite being sick during the marathon.  This marathon taught me more about myself and my strength.  I was extremely happy to finish.

The course had many wonderful volunteers and was very well organized.  The finish was beautiful in a park along Lake Winnebago in Menasha, WI.

Thank you everyone for your continued support.  I am heading to Baltimore next!
