#11: Seattle Rock n Roll Marathon

 I finished #11 in style with my friend Amanda and her friend Peaches.  This was Amanda's first marathon and she ran in memory of her dad.  She lost her dad suddenly in 2008.  We rocked the marathon with tutus :)  There were tons of marathon maniacs out on the course.  Seattle was hilly....lots of bridges and tunnels...it was fun screaming through the tunnels, but the bridges weren't so friendly.

#10: Vermont, Key Bank Vermont City Marathon

At the rainy start of the VT City Marathon!

The Vermont City Marathon course was beautiful despite the pouring rain, sun, and crazy humidity.

While running, I met Don Kern, the race director of the Grand Rapids Marathon in Michigan.  He told me he ran the Mount Desert Island Marathon its first year!  I plan on running Grand Rapids with my friend Nicole, another 50 stater.

Around mile 16, I met Kelly, a Biology graduate student from Dartmouth College.  We had a great conversation and continued running together to the finish.  She PR'd by a minute!!

The trip wouldn't have been complete without a visit to Ben & Jerry's...

Sea Dogs Mother's Day 5K with The Center for Grieving Children

Thank you Team 50 for Billy for coming out yesterday to benefit The Center for Grieving Children in Portland, Maine on Mother's Day and running the Sea Dogs 5K.  It's always a great course and fun family event...especially fun since the finish goes around the baseball field!  It was fun to meet and see all of you there!
